Introduction
The significance of international arbitration cannot be undermined. As the number of cross-border commercial transaction and inbound or outbound investment continues to increase, the study of the subject is of prime importance in the wake of the global economy.
Established in 2012, the International Arbitration and Dispute Settlement (IADS) Program at Tsinghua University School of Law was designed to offer a unique blend of academic and practical training in a broad range of subjects related to resolving international disputes, with a strong emphasis on practice. The courses are taught by leading practitioners and professors, all of whom have abundant invaluable experiences and comprehensive insights in the field of international arbitration.
The IADS Program aims to provide a challenge for a new generation of law school students to develop a broad understanding of international dispute resolution methods and stay abreast of the latest knowledge in international commercial and investment arbitration and mediation. The IADS courses, delivered in English, comprise lectures in various modules with group discussions and adopt a practice-oriented approach, incorporating workshops in case analysis, legal writing, and advocacy.
